LANDSCAPES

Ann's landscape paintings are inspired by her love of travel throughout the United States and Europe, and by the beauty of the landscape of her home region of Long Island, New York. From the architectural richness of a French chateau, an Italian hill town, the sparkle of a Long Island seascape or the charm of an East End vineyard, Ann seeks to capture the atmosphere and texture of the subject with the unique attributes that only the medium of watercolor can produce.

STILL LIFE

Still life studies allow the artist to explore the simple beauty found in everyday objects. Watercolor lends itself to the delicate layering of washes that describe the folds in a linen cloth or the soft blush of a pear, while aggressive use of dry brush captures the texture in a birds nest or a decaying autumn leaf.
